World Malaria Day was observed at the CMO Conference Hall, Mokokchung, under the theme ”Malaria Ends with Us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.”
During the program, two best performing surveillance workers, Asangba and Arenla, along with ASHAs Chubasangla and Asemtola, were felicitated for their contributions.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sentizungla Marina Yaden, Chief Medical Officer, congratulated the best performing surveillance workers and ASHAs for their achievements. She appealed to all frontline workers, including ASHAs, to continue their support and emphasized the need to work together for the elimination of malaria at the earliest. She also urged all surveillance workers to maintain proper documentation.
In his keynote address, Imkummongba, DVBO Consultant, spoke about the history and origins of World Malaria Day and gave an overview of the National Framework for Malaria Elimination. He stated that the Government of India has developed a framework aiming to eliminate malaria by 2030.
The program was chaired by Khenito, Assistant Malaria Officer, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr Martula, DVBO, Mokokchung.
