Imsennaro Walling of Khensa Village is a physics graduate from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University, who, in her third attempt, has finally cleared UPSC 2021 with sociology as her optional subject.
Sharing her excitement with Mokokchung Times, she insisted that it was God’s grace that helped her in acing this exam.
“I used to maintain a monthly, weekly and daily routine. I tried achieving my targets I set for every single day. My study hours could have been like seven to eight hours. I usually plan what I have to do the day before and used to mark certain things I have to study,” she said while discussing her preparation routine.
Although it was not possible to fulfill her targets every single day, she explained how taking breaks and doing activities to refresh her mind helped her get back into the routine.
“The preparation is a long journey. And it is obvious we cannot fulfill our goals every single day but we can always get back to our routine,” she said.
According to her, this exam in itself is a lesson to life. “To sit for this exam itself, you need a lot of dedication and consistency,” she added and continued to say how this exam should not end up as a road block but rather take it as a lesson for life.
“In this country, this exam is regarded as one of the prestigious exams but at the end of the day, it is just an exam. I don’t want aspirants and people who are planning to take up such exams to take this as the end of the road. Take this exam as a lesson for life,” she advised.
Making her concluding statement to fellow aspirants, she urged people to become highly competitive and committed.
“Once you decide to sit for this exam, you need to work hard and should not read it just for the sake of reading it but put your heart and soul into it; then God will guide you. Believe in yourself, be confident, work hard and dedicate yourself and eventually, your hard work will bear fruit,” she concluded.
