Fazl Ali College (FAC), in collaboration with Government Polytechnic Mokokchung, organised a faculty development programme on “AI Tools Training for Teachers” at the FAC Conference Hall on September 28.
The programme aimed to familiarise teachers with the use of artificial intelligence in education and develop practical skills for its effective, responsible and ethical application.
FAC principal Dr I. Wati Imchen described the programme as the beginning of an “unending dialogue on AI”, noting the growing influence of AI in education.
Five sessions were conducted by resource persons from Government Polytechnic Mokokchung, including Er. Ngangsham N Chemdok, Er. Neisakienuo Nelly Yhome, Er. Benjamin Chophy and Er. Azhove Tetseo, accompanied by principal Er. Lanusenla Longkumer.
The training covered basic AI concepts, commonly used tools, lesson planning, teaching-learning materials, effective prompting, presentations and other educational resources. It also addressed AI’s opportunities and limitations, with emphasis on responsible and academically appropriate use.
The hands-on sessions sought to enhance teachers’ digital competencies while stressing the importance of combining technology with subject expertise, creativity and professional judgement.
The programme was led by Bendangsenla, Associate Professor and IQAC Coordinator, FAC.
