Mokokchung, November 25 (MTNews): The All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) has in a notification on November 2 issued a guideline to be strictly followed by all the Member Associations of AIFF regarding Private Football Tournaments and procedure to be followed. Consequently, the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) has instructed all the affiliated District Football Associations to follow and implement the guidelines during hosting or permitting tournaments in their respective districts.

 

According to AIFF, during hosting or permitting any tournaments in the state, the authorization is to be obtained from AIFF in advance while all regulations of AIFF/FIFA/AFC and Laws of the Games are to be strictly followed.

 

AIFF also directed that all participating teams should carry a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their parent association and has asked the associations not to allow any team without the NOC from their parent association to take part in the tournament.

 

The associations were further asked not to permit any team to participate in outstation competitions without the NOC from their parent association and directed that no unregistered or non-affiliated tournaments will be permitted or hosted in the state.

 

The AIFF in conclusion asked for cooperation from all the Member Associations in implementing the guidelines and curb unauthorized or non-affiliated tournaments.

 

In regard to this, the Nagaland Football Association through a communique signed by K. Neibou Sekhose, President of the Nagaland Football Association has directed all the District Football Association members to strictly comply and implement the given guidelines during hosting or permitting any tournaments in the district.

 

Meanwhile, the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) president Meyisanger Lemtur told Mokokchung Times that the association will strictly comply with the AIFF guidelines as directed by the NFA. He said the latest guidelines were in fact a long felt need to streamline football tournaments in the districts and state. Citing an example, he said that MDFA will not recognize unauthorized or non-affiliated tournaments in Mokokchung district and that MDFA will not send referees to officiate those tournaments.
