The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has officially launched its Free Coaching Class program today at the AKM Conference Hall in Mokokchung. This initiative, which began in 1997, aims to provide educational support to students who have faced challenges in clearing their HSLC exams in previous attempts.

The four-month-long coaching course will cover subjects including Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to clear the HSLC board exams.

Last year, 46 students registered for the coaching classes, with 36 students appearing on the boards; of these students, 20 successfully passed their HSLC exams. However, this year, the number of registered students has decreased to 13.

One noteworthy aspect of this program is its inclusivity, as students from various communities in Mokokchung are welcome to attend the classes. The teaching faculty includes Jaya Singh, a teacher at Eden Academy, who will coach Science; Limasenla, a master’s degree holder in Sociology, who will teach Social Science; Kivikali, currently pursuing a master’s degree in English, responsible for the English subject; and Imjungwati, who holds a master’s degree in Science and will teach Mathematics.

To ensure the success of the coaching classes, AKM officials have emphasized strict adherence to rules and regulations. The classes are scheduled from 12:45 PM to 03:45 PM daily.
