The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) informed today that it will stage a peaceful protest in continuation of its demand to terminate the 5 backdoor appointees (forester-1) under Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forests Force on or before May 31.

CTAN Media Cell in a press release said that it will also exercise the right provided by the Government of Nagaland O.M.no:AR-3/Gen-179/2007(pt) on the subject, “Irregular appointment of Government servants by some appointing authorities.”

The association also questioned if the department adhered to Article 14 and 16 of the Constitution of India in the process of public employment by issuing advertisements inviting applications from eligible candidates and holding a proper selection where all eligible candidates got a fair chance to compete. “If not then it falls under the category of backdoor appointment,” it said, while adding that the appointment of five forester-1 is an infringement of Article 14-16 of the Constitution of India.
