In honour of the outgoing sixth semester students, Don Bosco College Kohima (DBCK) organised its 9th Gratitude Day at the college premises.

The event, a tribute to the graduating batch, was graced by special invitee Dr. Keyiesetuo Stephen Vizo, Governing Body Member, Don Bosco College, Kohima.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vizo urged graduates to reject the notion that they already know everything, stating that “learning is a continuous process.” He also called on students to focus on self-reliance and building independent livelihoods to ensure long-term security and success.

Fr. Dr. Tious Varghese, Principal, DBCK, praised the outgoing students for their academic journey and encouraged them to live by the motto “Duty and Joy,” while carrying forward values of service and integrity.

Speaking on behalf of the faculty, Dr. Lanukumla Ao, Assistant Professor, Department of History, thanked the students for their energy and curiosity, emphasising that success is defined by character rather than grades.

Representing the outgoing batch, Tühafi Sharu, sixth semester, Department of Botany, reflected on their journey from strangers to a close-knit family and expressed gratitude to the faculty for their guidance.

A key highlight was the “Carry Your Candle” ceremony led by Fr. Mattam Xavier, symbolising the passing of knowledge and responsibility.

The programme was chaired by Thangle Kath, while Phivito Swu invoked God’s blessings. Ravono Chasie delivered the vote of thanks.
