Wokha, 15 March (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, IAS, has laid the foundation stone for the district’s first Mini Tea Factory at Tchu-Nli, Niroyo Village, Wokha, today, marking a significant leap in the local tea industry.

The event, organized by the Wokha District Small Tea Grower’s Association (WDSTGA) under the guidance of Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha, was attended by key stakeholders and enthusiasts from the tea-growing community.

Addressing the gathering, DC Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, extended his heartfelt wishes to the WDSTGA for this pivotal initiative. He emphasized the importance of small tea growers in the region and urged them to leverage the services provided by Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha, for their various requirements.

The initiative, supported by Shishoi Oshom-ETF Cell, Wokha, aims at empowering local tea growers by offering skill training programs on tea packaging.

In collaboration with the Tea Board of Golaghat Office, Assam, the project is geared towards enhancing the quality and marketability of Wokha’s tea produce. Furthermore, assistance in marketing and branding endeavors for tea from Wokha is also being extended.
