Lumami, 19 June (MTNews): Former Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University, Prof Pardeshi Lal passed away on 18 June at his home town Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The news of his demise has left the Nagaland University in a state of deep mourning, as they describe it as a “loss beyond repair.”
Born on 15 July 1955, Prof. Pardeshi Lal joined Nagaland University as a Professor in the Department of Zoology on 15 May 1997. Prior to that, he had served in various capacities at NEHU (North-Eastern Hill University) and Manipur University. Recognizing his expertise and dedication, he was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University on 18 May 2017 and served in that capacity until 14 September 2022.
“The contributions of Prof Pardeshi Lal to the growth and development of Nagaland University in various capacities right from its early days is beyond measure and will be remembered for years to come,” the Nagaland University condoled.
