Four candidates from Nagaland have successfully cleared the UPSC CSE 2022-23 examination. The Union Public Service Commission officially announced the final results of the 2022 UPSC CSE examination on Tuesday afternoon, 23 May.

 

The successful candidates from Nagaland include Yimkum I Ozukum (Rank 203), Vevotolu Kezo (Rank 387), Imkongnukla Ao (Rank 723), and Aotula Ozukum (Rank 874).

 

A total of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment to various prestigious services such as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.

 

Interestingly, all the four candidates from Nagaland who cleared the UPSC exam are serving Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) officers – Yimkum I Ozukum- EAC (2018), Vevotolu Kezo – DSP (2021), Imkongnukla Ao- EAC (2021), and W Aotula Ozukum- SA (2021).

 

 

Girls Dominate the Top Ranks

A noteworthy mention is the remarkable achievement of female candidates in the UPSC CSE 2022-23 exam. The top four positions have been secured by girls, with six of them featuring in the top 10 list of successful candidates. Three of the four successful candidates from Nagaland are also females.

 

 

Nagaland CM, Deputy CM Congratulates

Meanwhile, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and deputy chief minister Y Patton have congratulated the four successful candidates from the state who have cleared the UPSC CSE 2022-23 exam.
Taking to Twitter, Rio said, “I extend my best wishes as you step into a world of opportunities and challenges in the service of the nation.”

 

Patton also applauded their achievements and acknowledged their triumph as a source of pride for Nagaland. “My best wishes to them in all their endeavors as they embark on this new and crucial journey of serving the nation and bringing transformation through their contributions. Here’s to their continued success and the future of our nation they are set to shape,” Patton tweeted.

 

 

AKM Congratulates

The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has congratulated the three candidates from the Ao community who have successfully cracked the UPSC CSE exam.

 

“The unceasing belief, unwavering effort and indomitable spirit is laudable and will serve as an inspiration for many generations to come,” the AKM said, while wishing them all the very best in their future endeavors.

 

 

Highlights of the result

 

The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 was conducted on 5 June 2022. A total of 11,35,697 candidates applied for this examination, out of which 5,73,735 candidates actually appeared in the examination.

A total of 13,090 candidates qualified for appearance in the Written (Main) Examination which was held in September, 2022.

A total of 2,529 candidates qualified for the Personality Test of the examination.

A total of 933 candidates (613 men and 320 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services.

Among the finally qualified candidates, the top four are women candidates. The top 25 candidates comprise 14 women and 11 men.

The recommended candidates also include 41 Persons with Benchmark Disability
