As the much-anticipated Happy Hills Festival began today in Mokokchung at Sungratsu Sports Complex, Yimchalu village, visitors discovered a treat they will remember for a very long time.

The kid zone, karaoke, food stalls and paintball were the crowd pleasers, but it’s only going to get bigger and more exciting as ‘Girsh and the Chronicles’, an internationally signed band, arrived in Mokokchung on Thursday evening and will perform on Friday evening at the festival.

Speaking to Mokokchung Times, Wapang, one of the Event Creators Mokokchung (ECM) members said that despite the Winter Night Carnival organized by AMAM and the ‘Mela’ in town, to their surprise, a fair number of people attended, especially in the evening.

“We are overjoyed that so many people attended and had a good time. We noticed that the children did not want to leave the venue, even though their parents were calling them to do so,” he stated.

Speaking of paintballs, which has become a visitors’ favorite, Wapang said, it is a new game that many were not aware of but whoever has visited found their taste in it.

“Was looking forward to this festival very much. Mokokchung needed one such event. Though the venue is a bit far from the town, in my opinion this is better, away from all the hustle bustle of the town. Food court has varieties of food stalls to choose from. Karaoke open for bathroom singers and anyone who loves singing. There’s Kids zone. Enjoyed Paintball game the most.” ~ A visitor commented.

“We are expecting more visitors tomorrow. Especially, with the Girish and the Chronicles set to be on stage,” he said.

“Girish and the Chronicles is an internationally acclaimed band. We know them and have watched them. So, I am confident that they will deliver what they have come here for,” Wapang concluded.
