A comprehensive review meeting was held under the leadership of Anoop Khinchi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, on May 9, 2025, at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW), Kohima.


During the meeting, district CMOs and Medical Superintendents delivered PowerPoint presentations outlining the ongoing activities and the implementation status of various health programs in their respective districts. They also highlighted key challenges such as manpower shortages, poor infrastructure, insufficient medical supplies, and a lack of fire safety equipment. Despite these hardships, districts are actively working towards achieving essential certifications such as NQAS (National Quality Assurance Standards), MusQan, and LaQshya, reinforcing their commitment to the welfare and well-being of citizens and improving healthcare delivery.

The meeting was chaired by Dr Mereninla Senlem, Director & Head of Department, DHFW. In her closing remarks, Dr Mereninla acknowledged the concerns and challenges the districts are facing and assured that necessary steps would be taken to address them promptly. She also urged all officers to take ownership of their responsibilities and, by leading by example, work collaboratively to garner community support for better health outcomes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), Medical Superintendents of District Hospitals, District Programme Officers (RCH), District Program Managers (DPMs), Program Officers, and Section Officers from the Directorate.
