Nagaland managed to secure a dramatic 2-2 draw against Haryana in the ongoing Junior Boys’ National Football Championship for the Dr. B.C. Roy Trophy 2024-25. Thangginhao Singson scored a crucial equalizing goal in the 94th minute at the Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon, Assam, keeping Nagaland’s hopes alive in the tournament.

Ayhunlo Chung initially put Nagaland ahead in the 7th minute, but Haryana’s Aman responded with two goals in the 21st and 48th minutes. Despite the setback, Nagaland fought back in additional time to earn a point from the match.

Nagaland’s assistant coach Kechi Kulimbe told Mokokchung Times about the importance of winning their next two matches against Manipur and Andaman Nicobar to advance to the semifinals. He acknowledged the challenge posed by Haryana’s physicality and fitness but praised his team’s effort in securing a crucial draw. Nagaland’s next match is against Manipur at 2 PM on August 3.
