In a promising community-driven tourism initiative, Longkhum village in Mokokchung formally launched its Tourism Policy today. The document was released by C Angang Jamir, chairman of Longkhum Village Council in the presence of village council elders and Longkhum tourism and draft committee members.
According to L Alemtemsu Ao, convener of the draft committee, the policy aims to transform Longkhum into a premier eco-tourism destination in Northeast India, providing sustainable economic opportunities while ensuring environmental conservation and cultural integrity.
The mission statement of the Longkhum Tourism Policy is “To develop and promote responsible tourism in Longkhum village, provide exceptional experience to visitors while preserving our cultural heritage, fostering community involvement, enhancing local livelihoods and protecting our environment for future generations.”
