Model Christian College, Kohima, celebrated its 18th Annual Freshers’ Meet 2026 at the College Auditorium under the theme “Beyond Ordinary”, welcoming new students and providing them an opportunity to interact, showcase their talents and begin their college journey with confidence.
The event featured a special walk presentation showcasing creative costumes and styles, followed by a question hour that tested participants’ confidence, presence of mind and communication skills. Thrukhumto T Yimchunger and Kriizhiini were crowned Mr. and Miss Fresher 2026, respectively. N. Leipha Konyak and Viposanu won Mr. and Miss Multimedia, while Shanjothung Ngullie and Linoto Katty were named Mr. and Miss Congeniality.
The contestants were judged by Linoka K Achumi, Miss Nagaland 2025; Miss Sumi, 2nd Runner-up, 2025; Nounengunuo Kratsütsu, Winner of Nagaland Exotic Model Hunt Season 6, 2025; and Zulambemo Y Odyuo, 2nd Runner-up of Mr. Teen Nagaland 2026.
The programme began with an opening prayer led by Kaimuthing Nring, followed by a welcome address by Students’ Council President Jangneichoi Kipgen. A welcome song was presented by BA and BSc 5th Semester students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by General Secretary Amy Keptho and a closing prayer by Principal-in-Charge Dr Mhabemo Odyuo.
