Mokokchung, 24 May (MTNews): The various associations of commercial vehicle owners of Mokokchung District has submitted a representation to the Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer of Mokokchung highlighting the non-payment of hire-fees for the utilization of their vehicles during the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Election held earlier in February.

Expressing their concern, the associations informed that despite providing their vehicles on a hire basis for the election, no payment has been made to the applicants until now.

Speaking to Mokokchung Times, President ANTAM said the delay has resulted in financial difficulties for the commercial vehicle owners, as the hire-fees play a crucial role in sustaining their livelihoods.

Thus, in their earnest appeal, the associations requested the prompt attention of the Deputy Commissioner and urged for the immediate release of the dues to the respective owners within a period of seven days.

The commercial vehicle owners’ associations, including the Truck Owners Association Mokokchung (TOAM), Private Bus Union Mokokchung (PBUM), Pick-Up Union Mokokchung (PUUM) and All Nagaland Taxi Association Mokokchung Unit (ANTAM), remain hopeful that their plea will be considered and that the hire-fees owed to them will be released in a timely manner.
