Mokokchung, 24 May (MTNews): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has submitted an urgent appeal to the Commissioner & Secretary of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Nagaland. The appeal seeks the immediate reconsideration and intervention regarding the attachment order of Assistant Professors from Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) and Fazl Ali College (FAC) in Mokokchung.

The appeal comes in light of the office letter which temporarily transfers seven Assistant Professors from MCTE and FAC to New Model College in Mangkolemba and Wakching.

The AKM expressed their concern, stating that both MCTE and FAC are currently understaffed, and this decision will adversely impact the normal functioning of these colleges.

While acknowledging the government and the department for establishing the new colleges, the AKM, on behalf of the student community, requested a reconsideration of the attachment order.

The AKM believes that “early completion of the ongoing recruitment process by the department and appointment of Assistant Professors, thereafter, to the New Model Colleges will be a more just solution and one that would be to the satisfaction and benefit of all concerned.”

The appeal emphasized the larger interest of the student community and highlighted the disheartenment caused by the attachment order. The AKM fervently appealed for a thorough exploration of an alternative course of action to address the concerns raised.
