The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has announced its pioneering initiative, the first-ever Mokokchung Mega Job Expo, scheduled to take place on 30-31 January at Fazl Ali College Mokokchung. Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung and Chairman of the Mega Job Expo Planning Committee, Thsuvisie Phoji, conveyed the details during a press conference held at the DC’s Conference room on Thursday.
The Mega Job Expo is strategically designed to bridge the existing gap between employment opportunities and the aspiring workforce. The event is themed “Connecting Careers” and aims to provide a platform where corporations, companies, NGOs, and governmental agencies, both regional and international (including a partnership with Japan), can offer job vacancies and training opportunities. The organizing committee, led by the DPDB, will act as a facilitating platform, ensuring seamless interaction between employers and job seekers. The committee will also extend infrastructural support to recruiters, including pre-screening of applicants.
The DC emphasized the inclusive nature of the job expo, stating, “This job expo will not be confined to the citizens of Mokokchung alone. Any Naga, irrespective of any district, aspiring for a befitting job can register for the Expo.”
Er Imlisunep, Secretary of the Planning Committee, outlined the three focal components of the Mega Job Expo: aspiring entrepreneurs, job seekers, and youth wanting to showcase their talents and gifts. Beyond recruitment, the event will feature stalls and exhibitions, providing local entrepreneurs and start-ups an opportunity to exhibit creativity and harness their potential.
The Mega Job Expo 2024: Connecting Careers planning committee is chaired by Deputy Commissioner Thsuvisie Phoji, with Er Imlisunep serving as the Secretary.
