Governor stresses role of teachers and students in nation building
The Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav, attended the Byatikram Education Conclave 9.0 held in Dimapur on June 22.

Addressing a gathering comprising educationists, academicians, principals, teachers and students, the Governor described education as the most powerful instrument of transformation and underscored its critical role in India’s journey towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He stated that the country’s education system must equip young people with knowledge, skills, values and creativity to meet future challenges and opportunities.
Referring to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Governor said the policy provides a strong roadmap for educational advancement through multidisciplinary learning, critical thinking, innovation and skill development. He noted that in an era marked by artificial intelligence and rapid technological changes, students must evolve as lifelong learners, innovators and responsible citizens.
The Governor stressed that education should empower youth not only to seek employment but also to become creators of opportunities and contributors to societal progress. He highlighted the immense potential of the Northeast region, citing its cultural diversity, rich heritage, indigenous knowledge systems and youthful talent. He said that by combining these strengths with quality education, research and innovation, the region can emerge as a vibrant centre of knowledge and economic growth.
Paying tribute to teachers, he described them as the true architects of the nation whose guidance shapes learning, confidence and character among students. He also congratulated students who were felicitated during the conclave for their academic excellence and encouraged them to continue striving for success while contributing meaningfully to society.
Expressing confidence in the outcomes of the conclave, the Governor said the deliberations would generate valuable ideas and foster meaningful partnerships to strengthen the educational ecosystem.
He also congratulated the Byatikram Group for its continued commitment to promoting educational excellence across the Northeast and extended his best wishes for the success of the conclave.
