The fourth edition of the Nagaland State & Para Games (NSPG) 2026 is set to bring together 2,953 athletes and 412 staff members from all 17 districts of Nagaland. Organised by the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA), the Games will be held from November 2 to 14 in Chümoukedima and Dimapur under the theme “Stronger Together”.
Addressing a press conference at the Games Village, Nagaland Police Complex, Chümoukedima, on November 1, 2026, Chairman of IDAN and Advisor to the Chief Minister, Abu Metha, described the Games as the biggest sporting event in the state so far in terms of participation and scale. He said the event provided an important platform to bring together sporting talent from all 17 districts and celebrate Nagaland’s youth.

Metha thanked Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for his vision, guidance and continued support in making the fourth edition possible.
He said the Games would feature 14 competitive sports, conducted in two phases, with seven sports in each phase. The first phase will run from November 2 to 8, with competitions from November 3 to 7, while the second phase will be held from November 9 to 14, with competitions from November 10 to 14.
Highlighting the preparations, Metha said the Games Village had been set up at the Nagaland Police Complex in Chümoukedima to accommodate athletes and officials. He acknowledged the logistical challenges of hosting an event of this scale but said efforts had been made to provide the best possible facilities.
The Games Village includes separate dormitories for men and women, medical facilities, dining areas, a media room, reception facilities and recreational spaces. Laundry services and other essential facilities have also been arranged. Workshops, seminars and documentary screenings on sports safeguarding, particularly the safety and protection of women and children, are also planned.
Metha said a software-based management system had been introduced to facilitate the Games. The official digital platform, FLEG SCORE, will provide live scores, match updates, game statistics and results, allowing athletes, officials, spectators and supporters to follow the competitions.
He said the State Games would help identify and encourage sporting talent, serving as a launchpad for athletes to progress to regional and national-level competitions.
Metha urged citizens to support the Games, stressing that the event was not merely about competition but also about bringing people together to celebrate young talent. He called for collective efforts to develop sports and secure a brighter future for Nagaland’s youth. (With DIPR inputs)
