The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party Legislature Party (NDPPLP) of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly held its first meeting at the NDPP Central Office in Kohima on 3 March.

The meeting was chaired by NDPP Secretary General Abu Metha, where the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and the President Chingwang Konyak congratulated and welcomed all the newly elected NDPP Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and encouraged all members to work tirelessly for the people and fulfill the commitments made during the entire campaign period based on the party manifesto.

 

The members also adopted four resolutions in the meeting, whereby the NDPPLP unanimously elected Neiphiu Rio as the leader of the NDPP Legislature Party. The NDPPLP also resolved to work with the vision for peace and development and take Nagaland towards a State of Excellence.

 

The NDPPLP further endorsed its leader and Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, to take the prerogative of forming the new government. This was stated in a press statement issued by the NDPP Media & Communication Committee.

 

The NDPPLP also conveyed gratitude to all the electorates of Nagaland for once again reposing their faith and confidence in the NDPP and the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister, by electing them as their respective representatives to the 14th NLA.
