The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Wednesday held a consultative meeting of its legislators and senior party leaders at the party’s central office in Kohima, where discussions centred on the Naga political issue, the state’s development and the recent natural disasters that have affected several parts of Nagaland.
The meeting was led by Chief Minister and NPF president Dr. Neiphiu Rio and chaired by NPF secretary general and Advisor, Achumbemo Kikon, MLA.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rio underscored the need to strengthen efforts towards an early resolution of the Naga political issue while ensuring balanced development across the state.
He stressed that the party must remain united and proactive in addressing both political and developmental challenges.
The meeting also took serious note of the recent natural disasters that have resulted in loss of life, property and livelihoods in different parts of the state. The party resolved to take all possible measures to support relief and restoration efforts, reach out to affected communities and extend assistance to those in distress.
Organisational matters also figured prominently during the deliberations, with leaders discussing measures to strengthen party coordination at all levels, enhance grassroots engagement and chart a roadmap for the future.
Calling for unity among the Naga people, Dr. Rio said, “Unity and collective effort are essential to safeguard the interests of the Naga people and to achieve lasting peace and progress.”
The meeting reaffirmed the party’s commitment to public service, unity and the overall welfare of the people of Nagaland.
