Mokokchung, 13 March (MTNews): The Salangtem Youth Union (SYU), under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association, is gearing up to host the eagerly anticipated 2nd SYU Open Futsal Tournament scheduled to be held from 26 to 28 March 2024 at the Mojabi Futsal Turf, located in Salangtem ward, Mokokchung.
The event will be graced by the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mokokchung and Administrator MMC, Chumlamo Humtsoe as the Guests of Honour.
Teams wishing to participate can pay a registration fee of Rs. 3,500 per team. Registration forms can be obtained from various locations, including G-Sports (Next to The Magnus Hotel), Purple Dew (Opposite Allahabad Bank), and the Network Travels Counter at Yongpang Market. The deadline for form submission is 23 March 2024.
The fixture for the tournament will be drawn on 25 March 2024 at the Salangtem Ward Community Hall.
Cash prizes await the victorious teams. The champions will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 60,000 along with a Trophy. The second and third place winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 40000 and Rs 10000 respectively. Individual prizes totalling Rs 10000 will also be awarded.

Youngster FC are the defending champions of the tournament. It may be recalled that 31 teams from Mokokchung and neighbouring districts competed in the 1st edition of the tournament last year.
