Mokokchung, 3 May (MTNews): Mokokchung emerged victorious over Wokha by a narrow margin of 14 runs after an exhilarating match at Imkonmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung on Friday, during the ongoing Nagaland Boys U-16 Inter-District Tournament 2024.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Mokokchung posted a total of 114 runs in their first innings.
Wokha responded with a valiant effort, managing 75 runs in their first innings.
In the second innings, Mokokchung faced a tough challenge, but they fought hard to score 51 runs before being bowled all out.
Wokha, in their second innings, fought hard but fell short by 14 runs, scoring 76 runs before being bowled all out.
Mokokchung’s determined performance throughout the match secured them the victory in this thrilling contest.
Mokokchung has now qualified for the next round of the tournament which will be played at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.
