They also shared what it truly means to live as a soldier, not just in the field but every day. Being resilient and living a life with a purpose, both in Service and beyond was the recurrent theme.
The students had a meaningful time. The highlights of the programme was a beautiful song rendered by Rfn / GD Meyisunep, from the Jazz Band of 12th Battalion, The Assam Rifles, and the resource persons making themselves available for one-on-one meetings with the students, where queries of the students were answered.
The school remains ever grateful to Lieutenant Colonel Joy Choudhury, and the Team from 12th Battalion, The Assam Rifles, and everyone involved, for taking an active interest and enabling such a brilliant Programme to come to fruition. This may, perhaps, lay the foundation of a follow-up process, to build up the Young Students, on their respective individual paths.
The 10 Bagless Days Module, initiated by the Department of School Education, on the recommendation of the National Policy of Education ( NEP ) 2020, mandates schools to organize and expose students to a variety of occupations in the World of Work. The Students are to be made aware of the tasks being performed by the people working in these occupations, with the objective of providing an exposure beyond the classrooms, to enable a clearer picture of the interconnectivity within a community, through vocational education, and thereby enhance a deeper understanding of Dignity of Labour.
This particular objective of the module would only be possible with the support and cooperation of the community, so today, community participation in education has become even more important.
