Mokokchung, February 27 (MTNews): Bendangmeren, 84, was the oldest among the voters that turned up in Chungtiayimsen village under 30 Alongtaki AC today who was alongside his friend, Shilutsulak, 78.

Bendangmeren, despite his advanced age, stated that he came to vote because he believes it will benefit the youth in today’s world.

 

“We want to participate with the youth and help them choose what is best for them,” he told Mokokchung Times, adding that the elders’ vote will help choose the right leader which in turn will get the youth to a better life.

 

He hoped that the vote he cast would bring about unity, and that whoever votes would vote for the best.

 

“I hope the best one wins and stays in the light for society,” he concluded.
