Chumoukedima, 23 December (MTNews): In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, the Tribal Old Age Home cum Day Care Centre (TOAHDCC) launched “Mission Smile” in 2023 to bring hope and joy to the lives of rescued senior citizens. The project, initiated in memory of the Late Teplok Amri, former Chairman of the Society, has proven to be a beacon of light for those facing despair in their golden years.

One such beneficiary of “Mission Smile” is Mr. X (name changed), a rescued senior citizen at TOAHDCC who, due to the absence of teeth, encountered difficulties in eating and chewing. Expressing his heartfelt desire for dentures, Mr. X’s plea did not go unnoticed by the compassionate team at TOAHDCC.
In a remarkable collaboration, TOAHDCC prayerfully approached Dr. Meyisen Angh of Shamakok Dental Clinic in Dimapur, seeking assistance for Mr. X.
Dr. Angh, moved by the cause, generously agreed to contribute to the mission, setting in motion a month-long intensive dental treatment for the elderly gentleman.
The culmination of this collaborative effort was marked by the presentation of dentures to Mr. X, who, at 77 years old, declared the gift as the best Christmas present he had ever received. With a newfound ability to chew and eat comfortably, Mr. X not only regained his dental health but also found renewed hope in his life.

Imlitongzuk Amri, the Director of TOAHDCC, expressed gratitude and hailed the success story of “Mission Smile” as a testament to the organization’s commitment to improving the lives of rescued senior citizens. He extended heartfelt thanks to Dr. Meyisen Angh and the entire team at Shamakok Dental Clinic for their collaborative spirit and charitable contributions.
