In a move to strengthen and promote tourism in the district, recommended individuals from Zunheboto on June 26 constituted the Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Zunheboto Unit, at a meeting held at Khonheche Cafe.

The meeting discussed the district’s tourism potential and stressed the need for a common platform to promote sustainable tourism, preserve cultural heritage and create opportunities for local communities through responsible tourism initiatives.

Members unanimously resolved to promote eco-tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism and community-based tourism in coordination with the Department of Tourism and other stakeholders.

The newly formed body appointed Holoka T Sumi as President, Vino Achumi as General Secretary, Tokavi K Zhimo as Media Secretary and Vitoka Yepthomi as Treasurer.

The team said it would work to identify and promote Zunheboto’s untapped tourism potential, encourage community participation and preserve indigenous culture and traditions, while reaffirming its commitment to the sustainable growth of tourism in the district and Nagaland.
