Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accepted an invitation to engage in a public debate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on pressing national issues. The invitation, extended by former Editor of ‘The Hindu’ newspaper N Ram, former Supreme Court judge Madan Lokur, and former Delhi High Court Chief Justice A P Shah, urged both leaders to participate in a non-commercial and non-partisan platform.
In a letter addressed to Former Justice Madan B Lokur, Ajit P Shah, and veteran journalist N. Ram, Rahul Gandhi expressed his willingness to participate in the proposed debate, following discussions with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Emphasizing the importance of such a dialogue, Rahul stated that it would offer the public an opportunity to understand the visions of both leaders and make informed decisions.
“It is also critical to put to rest any unsubstantiated allegations attributed to our respective parties,” Rahul Gandhi remarked, highlighting the significance of addressing concerns directly. He expressed that either himself or the Congress President would gladly participate in the debate, pending Prime Minister Modi’s agreement.
Rahul Gandhi also urged the former judges and journalist to inform him of the Prime Minister’s decision, after which they could coordinate the details and format of the debate.
