Wokha, 11 February (MTNews): Amidst the ongoing indefinite bandh declared by organizations in the Wokha district, the Chamber of Commerce has announced relaxations allowing for the opening of commercial activities on alternate days. Starting from February 13th, businesses will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 8 am to 2 pm.
Simultaneously, the Lotha Students’ Union has released a statement, urging educational institutions to suspend regular activities, except for students appearing for the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, along with teachers involved in examination duties.
DC Wokha informs on demolition and clearance exercise
Meanwhile, Wokha’s Deputy Commissioner, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, has informed that a mop-up exercise of demolition and clearance to remove unauthorized structures within compensated land along NH-61 in the Wokha district will be conducted tomorrow from 7:00 am onwards. He stated that this operation is a continuation of earlier clearance exercises conducted on June 19th and 30th, 2023, and February 1st, 2024.
Consequently, the Deputy Commissioner has requested the Executive Engineers from the PWD, National Highway, PHED, and Power departments, as well as representatives from the Lotha Hoho and Joint Action Committee, Wokha, to be present during the exercise.
